Jonathan under fire for ‘supporting’ homosexuals

Former president, Goodluck Jonathan has come under
harsh criticism from a section of Nigerians for
sympathizing with the people and government of the
United States and Florida over a mass shooting at a gay
nightclub in Orlando on Sunday, June 11, which has left
50 people dead .

Some Nigerians have misconstrued the
condolence message Jonathan sent to
America over the Orlando killing as siding
with homosexuals.
The former president in his message via his social media
accounts, Facebook and Twitter, said the shooting incident
at the gay nightclub in Orlando shows that terror respects
no borders and happens to even the best prepared which is
why we need global unity against it.

However a section of Nigerians have misconstrued the
condolence message Jonathan sent to America over the
Orlando killing as siding with homosexuals. Others faulted
the former president for calling for tougher actions against
terrorism on the grounds that he failed to rescue the
Chibok girls who were kidnapped by Boko Haram
insurgents during his administration.

Ositadinma Eastprince Sir, I honestly don’t
think there’s any need for sympathising with
people who died in an act of gay or homosexual
which every one knows that it triggers the wrath
of Most High, and secondly you implemented a
law against gay marriage while you were the
Nigerian Head of state.

Nneji Polycarp The same victims you
criminalised during your evil regime. What a
hipocrisy. your own is even worst cos Omar
killed only 50, but you criminalized millions of

Rita Iorbo My former president used to forget to
sympathize with families of terror attacks in
Nigeria when he was serving president. I am
happy he now realizes its import and has
extended his prayers to the American people on
the attack in Orlando. There is sense in post
presidency life, for sure!
