Ronaldo finishes top scorer in 2015-16 Champions League

The forward, who scored the winning spot kick in Saturday’s
shootout, was top of the goal rankings this season with 16
strikes – just one short of his all-time record
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been crowned
the top scorer in the 2015-16 Champions League with 16
goals.
Ronaldo was relatively quiet in the final at San Siro on
Saturday but netted the winning spot kick in the penalty
shootout to earn Madrid their 11th European Cup.
The Portuguese has scored seven more goals than any other
player in the competition this season and netted an
incredible 51 times across all competitions in 48 matches.

He also holds the record for most goals scored in the
competition, with 93 strikes since his debut in 2003 with
Manchester United.
It’s the fourth campaign in succession that Ronaldo has
topped the goalscoring charts and the fifth of his career in
total.
Barcelona’s Lionel Messi is the only other player to have
scored as many as his five hat-tricks in the Champions
League.
