Yahaya Bello to be inaugurated as Kogi state governor

Alhaji Yahaya Bello will be sworn as Kogi
state governor during an
official ceremony at 10am at the Confluence
Stadium, Lokoja on Wednesday, January
27.
President Muhammadu Buhari, the Vice
President, Senate President, Members of the
National and State Assemblies, State
Governors, Federal Ministers and Captains
of Industry are expected to attend the
Wednesday inauguration of Governor-elect
Yahaya Bello.

“We seize this opportunity to advise the
general public to be orderly, peaceful and to
co-operate with law enforcement agents
who have been directed to take strategic
positions in Lokoja township and environs
to ensure a hitch-free event,” the statement
said.

Alh Isiaq Ajibola, Chairman, Media and
Publicity Committee, recalled that as part of
the handing-over preparations, a transition
and inauguration committees were set up
to ensure a smooth transition of power.
It would be recalled that Bello replaces the
outgoing governor, Captain Idris Wada;
he will be sworn in by the Chief Justice of
the State.
