A group, loyal to the embattled Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Col. Sam Inokoba (retd.), Bayelsa Great House has said Inokoba remains the chairman of the party.BGH spoke against the backdrop of comment credited to the Special Adviser to Bayelsa State Governor on Political Matters, Mr. Fyneman Wilson, to the effect that Inokoba had been asked by the PDP Board of Trustees and formerPresident Goodluck Jonathan to resign his position over alleged financial impropriety.Inokoba was suspended by the State Working Committee of the party in April over allegation of misappropriation of N40m meant for former PresidentGoodluck Jonathan’s campaign. But the Chairman of BGH, Chief Ebinimi Owei, and the group’s Secretary, Mr. Victor Woyinkuro, in a statement on Sunday, said Dickson’s apologists lied, insisting that the BoT reinstated Inokoba as the substantive chairman of the party.Owei described the statement credited to Wilson as childish and a cheap political gimmick, warning him to respect his old age and toe the path of wisdom and good conscience. He added that there was no time any member of the BoT and former President Jonathan asked Inokoba to resign. He said, “Bayelsans are all aware of various acknowledgements, recognition and respect accorded to Inokoba as one of the founding fathers of the party and as a focused leader.“No wonder the National Working Committee said he remained the substantive chairman despite the illegality of the SWC.”He further traced the crisis rocking the party to the time Wilson emerged as Dickson’s political adviser and Serena Dokubo-Spiff became the acting chairman of the party. He said the statement of Wilson was capable of further dividing the party and narrowing the re-election chances of his principal (Dickson). He added, “Fyneman Wilson should be galvanising and mobilising more support base for his principal, instead of creating more problems for Dickson, who is begging and crying day and night for support.“After the decision of the BoT reinstating suspended and expelled members, the SWC issued a statement claiming that the action of the BoT was subject to the ratification of the SWC. Which is superior, the BoT or the SWC?”
